Potential groundnut pre-breeding genotypes with resistance to Aspergillus flavus

چکیده

Aflatoxin contaminated groundnut can cause serious health effects to both humans and livestock. Twenty nine pre-breeding genotypes derived from A, B K genomes of along with their parents, susceptible, resistant checks, released cutlivars advanced breeding lines were evaluated under field for various productivity parameters in addition screening resistance against aflatoxin the artificial condition. Among only two (ICGIL 17101 ICGIL 17124) showed A flavus colonization severity 1 very less incidence percentage (< 7%) considered as compared known check, ICG 02207 which had 3 95 % incidence. Three pre genotypes, 17107, 17114, 17128 2 moderately resistant. The late leaf spot rust variety, GPBD 4 classified susceptible indicating different mechanism operating pathogens. genotype 17124 having flavus, also higher pod yield per plant hence could be tested widely its consistent performance before releasing a variety. Nutrient environments influence competition among Aspergillus flavus genotypes.

The population dynamics of Aspergillus flavus, shaped in part by intraspecific competition, influence the likelihood and severity of crop aflatoxin contamination. Competition for nutrients may be one factor modulating intraspecific interactions, but the influences of specific types and concentrations of nutrients on competition between genotypes of A. flavus have not been investigated. Competit...

Transcriptional Profiles Uncover Aspergillus flavus-Induced Resistance in Maize Kernels

Aflatoxin contamination caused by the opportunistic pathogen A. flavus is a major concern in maize production prior to harvest and through storage. Previous studies have highlighted the constitutive production of proteins involved in maize kernel resistance against A. flavus' infection. However, little is known about induced resistance nor about defense gene expression and regulation in kernels...

Identification of Maize Kernel Endosperm Proteins Associated with Resistance to Aflatoxin Contamination by Aspergillus flavus.

ABSTRACT Aflatoxins are carcinogens produced mainly by Aspergillus flavus during infection of susceptible crops such as maize (Zea mays). Previously, embryo proteins from maize genotypes resistant or susceptible to A. flavus infection were compared using proteomics, and resistance-associated proteins were identified. Here, we report the comparison of maize endosperm proteins from five resistant...

Is catalase activity one of the factors associated with maize resistance to Aspergillus flavus?

Plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses are usually accompanied by the release of reactive oxygen species including hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide plays a direct role in defense and is involved in many signal transduction pathways that lead to the proliferation of other defenses. Because catalase helps to maintain reactive oxygen homeostasis during biotic and abiotic stress, its ac...
